In addition septicaemia patients is a substantial economic burden to the hospital – according to one source up to 50.000 USD per patient. Traditional AST typically takes from 15-30 hours, and Unisensor has shown that this can be decreased to less than one hour by using our patented technology. This will not only increase the survival chance and reduce the costs, but also have the societal benefit, that the emergence of multi-resistant bacteria is reduced due to the earlier usage of the proper narrow-band antibiotic therapy.
